The Laurels of Bedford employs a team of highly qualified medical professionals, including a Medical Director, Registered Nurses, Restorative Care Nurses, a Wound Care Nurse, state tested Certified Nursing Assistants, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and a Speech Therapist. Our on-site Rehab, Dietary, Social Work, and Activities departments provide personalized and compassionate care to each guest. From the moment you walk through the front doors, the warmth and caring of the staff will begin to gain your trust and confidence, as they strive to exceed your expectations.
Unlike other facilities that use "contracted" staff members, each member of the team at The Laurels of Bedford is directly employed, not "contracted". Don Macleay, Administrator
Don has been an employee of Laurel Health Care Company since 1996. He began his career working as a dietary employee and continued to grow within the company. He received his Dietary Management Degree from Auburn University in 2001 and proceeded to Michigan State University where he added an Administration Degree in 2007. Don accepted the Administrator position at The Laurels of Bedford in September of 2008.
Annette Hatfield, Director of Nursing
Annette Hatfield is the Director of Nursing and joined the Laurels of Bedford in January 2008. She has over 20 years of experience and leadership as a Director of Nursing. Annette is a graduate of Bronson School of Nursing as an RN-BC; she also is Board Certified in Gerontological Nursing.
Kristi Maloney, Director of Marketing
Kristi became a member of The Laurels’ staff in 2014 after 9 years in the healthcare field. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree from Indiana University. Her experience includes Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living/Independent Living and Hospital Marketing. Kristi enjoys working with the families and guests where she makes a difference in the lives of seniors every day. She also loves her volunteer work with the Alzheimer’s Miles for Memories Walk and doing a variety of activities at Assisted Living Communities in Battle Creek. Kristi resides in Battle Creek with her husband, Warren.
Rachel Pallett, Rehabilitation Services Director
Rachel is a Licensed Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) in the state of Michigan and is currently the Rehabilitation Services Director at The Laurels of Bedford. She graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Occupational Therapy in June 1998. A member of The Laurel Health Care Company staff since 2002, Rachel has worked in geriatrics and has been in rehab management at skilled nursing facilities since 2000.
